The Dussehra release opened well at the box office, and the film earned over Rs 15 crore on day 1. On the first Monday, 'Idli Kadii' collected just Rs. 0.27 crore till noon. This is considered a normal low after a festive weekend. However, the crowd of fans at major centres did not decrease, and the film is likely to peak during evening and night shows. Fans have been pouring in their support for the film on social media, with critics predicting that the film's word-of-mouth acclaim will continue to carry the film commercially for weeks to come.Dhanush visited the ancestral temple in Theni to offer prayers and to express his gratitude for the box office success.
