Govinda and wife Sunita Ahuja’s marriage has found itself under the scanner, with strong rumours of divorce doing rounds. But in the middle of all the noise, their son Yashvardhan Ahuja has caught everyone’s attention by sharing a serene picture of a pooja at home.
Yashvardhan shares pooja moment with followers
Yashvardhan Ahuja took to Instagram to share a snapshot of a pooja being performed at their house. The picture showed a priest leading the rituals while Yashvardhan’s dog sat quietly, as if taking part in the prayers. Captioning the moment, Yashvardhan wrote, “My lil boy joining us for pooja.”
Divorce reports add to the buzz
The pooja post came against the backdrop of reports that Sunita Ahuja has filed a divorce petition against Govinda. As per a Hauterrfly report, Sunita Ahuja has filed a divorce petition against Govinda in the Bandra Family Court under the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955. Filed in December 2024, the petition accuses the actor of adultery, cruelty and desertion. It further states that Govinda has often skipped court hearings and failed to attend mandatory counselling sessions, while Sunita has been present at every proceeding without fail.
Family friend weighs in
Even though the divorce chatter is growing louder, not everyone close to the family believes the marriage will end. A close family friend told ETimes, “They (Govinda-Sunita) have their fights.
Yes, violent fights. I have been a first-hand witness to some of them. But they will never separate permanently. After fights, Govinda shifts to his other bungalow and returns when things cool down.”
The friend’s account suggests that while clashes have been part of Govinda and Sunita’s relationship, they have always managed to come back together after the storm passes.
Govinda and Sunita will sort out their differences
The same family friend gave an even stronger statement about why separation seems unlikely. The friend insisted, “Govinda would never leave Sunita. He will be finished without her. She anchors him, controls his moods. Without her, he will be lost. Even if matters have gone to court, and I am not saying, they have, the couple will sort out their differences, as they always do.”
