Mosquito bites are a normal part of being outdoors, particularly in tropical or monsoon areas. Most are harmless and work themselves out, but some bites can be a sign of a much greater problem. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) says to understand the signs when a simple itch could be a warning sign of infection, an allergic reaction, or even a mosquito-borne disease.
