Litton Das, the Bangladesh skipper, is set to miss the upcoming T20I series against Afghanistan after sustaining a grade 1 strain on the left abdominal muscle during the Asia Cup. Jaker Ali will continue to lead the side in Das's absence.
"He (Das) had missed the last two matches of the Asia Cup with a side strain. An MRI scan has revealed a grade 1 strain on the left abdominal muscle. He is undergoing recovery and will not be available for the T20 series. The medical team will continue to manage his rehab and monitor his progress," said team physio Bayjedul Islam Khan.
Soumya Sarkar, the 32-year-old batter, is the only addition to the Bangladesh squad that played the Asia Cup. The three-match series, set to be played in Sharjah, is set to begin on October 2.
