Pakistan batter Sidra Amin has been reprimanded for breaching Level 1 of the ICC Code of Conduct during their game against India on Sunday, October 5 in Colombo. In addition, she has also been handed one demerit point.
Amin admitted the offence and the subsequent sanction proposed by match referee Shandre Fritz after being charged by the umpires.
Amin, who top-scored for Pakistan with a 106-ball 81, was found guilty of breaching Article 2.2 of the ICC Code of Conduct which relates to "abuse of cricket equipment or clothing, ground equipment or fixtures and fittings during an International Match" - after hitting her bat forcefully on to the pitch following her dismissal.
A Level 1 one offence can carry a maximum penalty of a fine amounting to 50% of the player's match fees and two demerit points.
Chasing 248 to win, Pakistan fell 88 runs short after being bowled out for 159. They are yet to register a win in the tournament having lost to Bangladesh earlier and face Australia next on October 8.
