Vijay Sethupathi, the acclaimed actor, has publicly addressed the recent controversy surrounding his son, Surya Vijay Sethupathi, and his debut film, 'Phoenix'.
At the film’s premiere, Vijay Sethupathi expressed his gratitude to the team and the audience, conveying his hope that the film would resonate with viewers.
Reports surfaced alleging that the actor had pressured individuals to remove online videos related to his son. When questioned by reporters, Vijay Sethupathi clarified, “If something like that happened, it might have been done unknowingly or by someone else. I sincerely apologize if anyone was hurt or misunderstood the intention.”
‘Phoenix’ received a significant boost from superstar Thalapathy Vijay, who watched the film and shared his feedback with the team. Director Anal Arasu, a renowned stunt choreographer, shared a photo with Vijay and Surya on social media, noting the positive feedback.
Though Vijay did not issue a formal review, his encouragement deeply moved Surya Vijay Sethupathi, who acknowledged Vijay's support on his cinematic journey.

Directed by Anal Arasu, 'Phoenix' features Surya Vijay Sethupathi alongside Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Devadarshini, and Sampath. Velraj is the cinematographer, Sam C.S. composed the music, and Praveen K.L. served as the editor. The film is currently in theaters and receiving positive reviews.
