Making your own wedding bouquet can help you save money, and you get to completely customize it so it feels more personal. Not just any flowers will work though, and there are some things you’ll want to keep in mind so you don’t run into any problems on your wedding day. Fortunately, in this video, Event Planner and Designer Jove Meyer offers some tips for doing a DIY wedding bouquet successfully.
I first must say that this isn't for everyone. If you are a DIY person, good for you. If you're not, don't worry, you can always hire someone. If you really want to build your own wedding bouquet, you need to think about flowers that can exist outside of water for many, many hours as your bouquet is not a centerpiece living on a table with water. You are carrying it around for photos and during the celebration. So you want to pick flowers that are tough, and that will last and not wilt, and you also maybe want to give yourself a dry run. So go to the grocery store, the flower market, definitely practice. Don't make your first bouquet ever on your wedding day. Do it ahead of time. And finally, I would say pick the flowers that make you happy.
